Bio: Marc Wolding, Vice President of Operations
H.O. Wolding
Marc Wolding is vice president of operations for H.O. Wolding (www.howolding.com), a 350-truck carrier based in Amherst, Wis. H.O. Wolding serves many Fortune 500 companies, operating as a dry van carrier throughout the eastern half and the southwest region of the United States.
As vice president of operations, Marc oversees and helps coordinate the company's dispatch, sales and driver recruiting areas. Marc has been employed for 30 years at H.O. Wolding, and he has served the company in a number of capacities during his career. He is one of several family members employed at the company, which was started by his grandfather in the 1930s.
Marc's role at H.O. Wolding involves him in many different aspects of the business. Over the years he's participated in numerous customer/carrier negotiations to establish rates and volume commitments. He's also helped develop the company's strong service ethic, which most of the time enables it to exceed customers' on-time standards for performance. In addition, he's helped the company strengthen its role as a niche carrier in serving a select group of key core customers with maximum effort.
Marc lives in Amherst with his wife, Deb, and has two children and three step children. He enjoys a busy family life that includes attending his children's ball games and following the careers of his older children (several in college), as well as keeping physically active.
