New Business and Professional Office Park to Open in Stevens Point in 2006

Stevens Point, Wis. – (January 6, 2006)– A new office park will offer a distinctive, high-visibility, campus-style location for businesses, professional firms and light-retail outlets in Stevens Point in early 2006.

Oakwood Center is a master-planned business and professional campus that will be located in Stevens Point, just off of Interstate 39 and directly north of the new Crossroads Commons shopping center in Plover in the Portage County Business Park.

Oakwood Center is being developed by Oakwood Ventures, LLC, a locally owned and operated commercial development and property management firm. According to John F. Schultz, general manager of Oakwood Ventures, Oakwood Center will provide tenants and occupants with a unique business environment.

"Oakwood Center will offer an unmatched combination of attractive office buildings, appealing green space and landscaping, and state-of-the-art amenities and services, all in a small city, family friendly environment," Schultz says.

Schultz says Oakwood Center will provide amenities and services that include copying, faxing, printing, a receptionist and temp staff support, and meeting and conference rooms. It will also include walking and biking trails, outdoor water fountains, a gazebo courtyard, ponds and other features.

With build-to-lease and build-to-purchase opportunities available, Oakwood Center will offer locations for both offices and light-retail outlets. Oakwood Center is currently leasing space for its first building with groundbreaking scheduled for early 2006. It is ultimately projected to have 10 individual buildings with an estimated total value of more than $25 million.

Once completely developed, Schultz anticipates that Oakwood Center will be home to as many as 300 tenants and occupants.

Schultz says that one of the unique aspects of Oakwood Center will be its flexible office plans.

"Oakwood Center will provide full-time and part-time office plans, as well as virtual office plans," he says. "Virtual offices will allow businesses to have an Oakwood Center office suite as their address. They'll also be able to use receptionist services as well as have access to meeting rooms and a conference area."

Oakwood Center will also offer a wide range of light-retail services. Schultz says these will tentatively include a deli, an ice cream and coffee shop, a gift store, a dry cleaner, a photocopying center, a salon and a spa. "We are currently having discussions with retailers to provide light-retail services that would be appealing in a business campus setting," Schultz says.

Schultz is joined in the Oakwood Center development by his son, John J. Schultz, and Dr. Brian Novinska. John J. Schultz and Novinska are the owners of Oakwood Ventures and are both Stevens Point natives. Schultz is a local investment broker and Dr. Novinska is an anesthesiologist at St. Michael's Hospital. Schultz and Novinska are graduates of Stevens Point Area Senior High School and live in Stevens Point with their families.
